Reusing carpet after a flood. How do I remove tape/glue for carpet seams?
I cleaned the carpet with chemical and extractor. Extracted water from padding and applied steri-fab chemical to sanitize floor, padding (both sides) and carpet (both sides). I’d like to reinstall the carpet now that the cause of flooding has been remedied and the basement is dry and sanitized. How do I get the old tape/glue on the seams of the carpet off? I bought “no iron” seam tape to reinstall. Was this wise? Should I use the “iron” type instead? Thanks.
TM; don’t waste your time in removing, just re-cut straight lines…it will have shrunk so use where you can to get the job done.
use hot glue and imbed with a heave tool carrier.
